LETTER FROM A DONOR

 

Over 13 1/2 years ago our life and the lives of others changed forever. It was during the next couple of years and, for that matter ever since, that lives have been touched in positive ways.

 

A gentle, yet firm, man came into our lives. He was touched with an illness himself, and through his own recovery, he changed. Not only did he change his own life, he changed the lives of hundreds of people that he touched directly and thousands of lives indirectly. He went to school, he learned, he practiced, he helped, he prayed....

 

I truly believe that it was through the direction of God that our family was led to SRI and to this man. This man did what was necessary to touch our lives. As stated above, he was gentle when needed. He would get in our face when needed. He would listen when needed. He would talk when needed. One thing is certain, he did it all for us....

 

This man is you, Lenny Harner.

 

Lenny, you gave mental and, I believe, physical life to our daughter. You gave her self esteem, self worth, education, understanding, boundaries, direction, care, concern, LOVE, a solid foundation to carry her through her own recovery and through the rest of her life.

 

Through your educating our family, we have had the opportunity to help others in a very small way. Substance abuse is everywhere in our society, from time to time we have the opportunity to give a little of what you taught us to others, in a very small way. Most of all, you, through us, give HOPE to others who desperately need HOPE!

 

Lenny, there are dozens of stories, how your influence has touched so many lives. How you have saved so many lives and families. For those that haven't told you, "Thank you!"

 

We wanted the donation to go to a faith led organization. We wanted it to go to an organization that would touch people directly. We wanted the funds to touch lives of families. We wanted the funds to live on, long after they had been invested. We wanted it to "make a difference." We wanted to support something or someone that supported us through this journey of life.

 

Lenny, you and your work have touched and will touch the lives of people that you don't even know. Your work is giving HOPE and LOVE to people who so desperately need it. Your work accomplishes what we were searching for the future in countless lives. What you are doing is important- we are living proof of it.

 

Our Prayer:

Thank you, God for bringing Lenny into our lives. Be with him, his work and his ministry. Give him the tools and resources needed to carry on your will. Give him guidance and direction that only you can give to him.
